Our 7 year old has recently developed a love for cooking. Salads are his new craze perhaps for their ease and versatility. It’s such a joy seeing him in the kitchen, thinking up new ideas and loving the end result.
This recipe is simple, delicious and healthy. For all kids looking to get started in the kitchen the salad is a great place to start. Simple knife skills are needed and it’s amazing how fast little ones can pick things up! Enjoy xx
Ingredients
Cos lettuce – leaves torn
A punnet of cherry tomatoes halved
An avocado spooned out the goodness
Half a bunch of spring onion
Beetroot (tinned or fresh) sliced thinly
Corn kernels (2 corn cobs fresh or tinned)
Coriander leaves
Mint – leaves torn
Sesame seeds
Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt
Directions
- Wash the lettuce and add to a salad bowl
- Add all the other salad ingredients and toss
- Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt to taste and sprinkle sesame seeds for the finishing touch!
